The fact is, there are only two U.S. government agencies who "certify" their agents as security professionals: the United States Secret Service and the Diplomatic Security Service. Of those, only the Diplomatic Security Service is authorized to provide protective services in high-threat environments, and no other government agency in the world conducts more protective security details each year than the Diplomatic Security Service. In fact, the Diplomatic Security Service is the largest federal law enforcement agency on the planet, with a presence in more than 250 countries. With these simple truths in mind, meet Mr. Corey Crane.
Corey Crane
Founder/President
Mr. Corey Crane is founder and Chief Executive Officer of Sarus Global, one of the country’s few international travel consulting firms focused specifically on missionary organizations. Sarus has supported the leadership of various religious organizations by facilitating strategic planning sessions that pragmatically address travel-related security risks faced by missionaries and their sponsoring organizations.
Uniquely Qualified. Mr. Crane has a unique and specialized international security background that includes seven years of commended service as a Special Agent with the U.S. Department of State's famed Diplomatic Security Service (DSS). During his tenure with DSS, he worked in over 20 countries protecting U.S. persons and interests abroad. While serving at the U.S. embassies in Baghdad, Iraq and Wellington, New Zealand, he acted as one of the principal security advisors to the U.S. Ambassador. While assigned domestically at Diplomatic Security's Houston Field Office, he conducted complex identity fraud investigations and supported numerous protective security details for visiting foreign ministers and high-profile political figures. In 2014, the State Department hand-picked Corey to serve as a Congressional Oversight Committee security advisor to the U.S. Olympic Team for the winter games in Sochi, Russia. Due to the highly publicized terrorist threats against the games and the host nation’s response capabilities, he was one of only a handful of advisors who were “on-the-ground” in Sochi before, during, and after the games.
Decorated Veteran. Prior to joining Diplomatic Security, Corey served five years in the United States Marine Corps as a Marine Security Guard, where he successfully completed two tours at U.S. embassies in London, England and Minsk, Belarus. While overseas as a Marine, Corey ensured classified documents were secure, diplomats were safe and well advised on local security issues, and the U.S. mission remained well protected.
